Welcome to ZooWorld’s free-flight aviary!  Home to a beautiful, exotic, and colorful species of Australian Parakeet –also known as the budgerigar– (and a couple of lovebirds and cockatiels as well)

Walk through the aviary, as these brightly colored and energetic little birds zip around, land on your head, and eat from your hand. Get ready to take part in an unforgettable up-close bird encounter.

 Fun Facts About Our Aviary

  • The aviary is open daily from 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM
  • ‍The aviary is the home of 350 budgies, 4 lovebirds, and 2 cockatiels.
  • You may purchase budgie sticks at the admissions counter when you arrive or in the gift shop! We suggest 2 sticks per person. The Budgie Combo is $6.00 for 4 budgie sticks. SAVE $2
  • Bring your camera in with you for a chance to get some great photos!
    Budgies may land right on you. They enjoy perching on your head, arms, and hands… It’s just like being a Disney princess!
  • What do the birds eat?
    Millet and seeds are their favorite snack, but they have an additional prescribed diet as do all of our zoo animals
  • There are no age restrictions on the free-flight aviary adventure!
  • Be careful while walking through the Budgie Aviary, the little birds will love shoes and can be found wandering around near your feet.
  • You won’t want to rush this experience, be patient! Good things come to those that wait.
